2021 Buick Encore GX

The Encore GX is a relatively new addition to Buick’s SUV lineup, just introduced last year in response to demand for a larger version of Buick’s very popular sub-compact Encore SUV.  While some buyers still want the compact and efficient design of the original Encore, the 2021 Buick Encore GX has some very nice features that make it hard to resist.

Going a Size Up

If you’re perfectly happy with the Encore you’re driving now, you may wonder if it’s really worth upgrading to this more modern and spacious counterpart. While the original Encore is a tremendous value with terrific features, the Encore GX does in fact bring quite a bit more to the table, both in terms of power and interior touches.

Featuring two turbocharged three-cylinder engine options, the GX has a continuously variable automatic transmission or a nine-speed automatic that comes on all-wheel-drive models. Critics agree that the GX offers a very smooth ride, improved performance, comfortable interior styling, and plenty of the latest tech features that car shoppers are looking for in 2021.

Pricing on the 2021 Buick Encore GX

There are three basic price points for the Encore GX: The Preferred trim, starting at $25,395; the Select trim, starting at $26,995; and the Essence trim, starting a $29,795. Buick has kept the price range relatively tight, although there are a few custom add-ons that can drive up the cost. You also have the option of adding all-wheel drive to any trim for $2,000.

In our opinion, the best value in the trim lineup is the mid-range Select model. For less than $1,500 above the base price, you’re getting a GX that is dressed up with 18-inch wheels, a roof-rack, heated seats, an eight-way, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a remote starter, and dual-zone climate control. The top-of-the-line Essence trim is also tempting if you want a more premium interior with leather upholstery.

What’s New for 2021?

This is only the GX’s second year on the market, so there are no significant overhauls, but there are some nice standard features on the 2021 edition that were upgrades on last year’s model. SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are now standard features across the lineup. Adaptive cruise control can now be had as part of the Preferred trim when you add the optional Safety package.

Next-Level Infotainment Features

The GX has a very responsive and user-friendly 8-inch touchscreen that promptly connects you to all your infotainment features. It also has four well-placed USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. For a reasonable upcharge, you can add Buick’s premium navigation system, HD radio, wireless device charging, and a seven-speaker Bose stereo.

Whether you’re a current Encore driver or new to this exceptional brand, it’s definitely worth your time to check out the 2021 GX. Visit us today at Front Royal Buick GMC for a test drive!
