Fully redesigned for the 2021 model year, the GMC Yukon has a 6.1-inch longer wheelbase to increase passenger comfort, particularly for the rear-seat passengers. Now in its fourth generation, the Yukon still drives like a truck despite it being an SUV. This means, you get the benefits of a work truck as well as the ability to transport your entire family. But how do you know which trim is right for you? Use this guide to learn more about the four trim levels so you can choose the best one for your needs.

SLE

Even though the SLE is the base trim of the 2021 Yukon, its amenities are numerous. It comes with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine, 18-inch tires, and seating for up to eight people with two in the front and three in both the second and third rows. The SLE also comes standard with a 10.2-inch touch-screen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You also get keyless entry and ignition.

Two packages are available on the base trim: GMC Pro Safety Plus and Max Trailering. The GMC Pro Safety Plus package includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure mitigation, while the trailering package has a feature to adjust the trailer’s brakes, a heavy-duty cooling system, and a two-speed active transfer case for four-wheel drive models.

SLT

Moving up to the SLT trim gets you 20-inch wheels and an enhanced interior with second-row bucket seats. Enjoy the comforts of leather upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats. For technology, you’ll find a wireless charging pad and a nine-speaker Bose audio system.

It comes standard with the GMC Pro Safety Plus system, but you have the choice to add other packages, including the Max Trailering package. The rear media system with two 12.6-inch displays and a navigation system ensure your passengers are entertained and you arrive at your destination on time. The SLT Luxury package adds a heated steering wheel and a second-row bench seat as well as a power-folding third row.

AT4

As the off-road trim, the AT4 only comes in four-wheel drive. In addition to the features found on the SLT trim, this one includes hill descent control, adaptive suspension, and a heated steering wheel. You can opt for the Technology package, which adds rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera system, and a head-up display.

Denali

The top-of-the-line Denali trim includes many of the AT4 features but adds a 6.2-liter V-8 engine. It also comes standard with the navigation and technology systems. You can opt for the Denali Deluxe package, which adds 22-inch wheels and a rear entertainment system, or the Denali Premium package, which also has 22-inch wheels as well as a panoramic sunroof and power-retractable side steps.
