The Power
Drivers have a choice between three different engines in the Acadia. The base is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that works with the new nine-speed automatic transmission. It generates 193 horsepower and gets 188 pound-feet of torque. The SLT has a new 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 258 horsepower, and if your adventure needs even more power, the AT4 and Denali come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that develops 310 horsepower.
The AT4
The new AT4 trim is the GMC you need for any adventure that will take you off the beaten path. It comes with a powerful engine, standard all-wheel drive, and adds extras such as 17-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, hill-start assist, and hill-descent control. The AT4 also has black roof rails so you can strap on your kayak, skis, or even extra luggage. Inside, it only has two rows of seats, leaving extra room in the back for gear.
The Denali
If your adventure needs more of a luxury ride, then the Denali is your Acadia. This trim comes with all the extra comfort features you need for the ultimate trip. Ventilated front seats will keep you comfortable in any conditions, and features such as a heated steering wheel and second-row seats come standard. It also has driver’s seat memory settings, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a power-adjustable steering column.
The Technology
The latest version of GMC’s infotainment system comes standard in all of the 2020 Acadia models. It has an 8-inch touch screen display and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot capability comes in all models, along with USB ports, an auxiliary jack, and a six-speaker stereo system. The SLT and above have integrated navigation and a 120-volt outlet, and these trims also upgrade the stereo to an eight-speaker Bose system. Bumping up again to the Denali will get you wireless charging as an added tech feature.
The Safety Technology
All of the Acadia models come with OnStar emergency communications, a rearview camera, a blind-spot monitor, rear-park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change alert. The Teen Driver system also comes standard, allowing parents to set limits for their new drivers. The Denali adds forward collision warning, forward pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beam headlights along with lane-departure warning, a safety alert driver’s seat, and it adds front parking assist. The Technology package for the Denali adds a 360-degree camera and an upgraded adaptive cruise control system.
GMC’s 2020 Acadia is ready for any adventure. Whether your trip takes you up to the mountains, to the beach, or just down the highway, you’ll get there in style.
